Music for Demian Dorelli is the prime mover of his soul. From the moment he was a baby, listening to JJ Cale and Pink Floyd while drifting off to sleep in the back of a speaker, to composing his own music on a synthesizer and drum machine in his bedroom, music has been his constant companion. His influences range from Keith Jarrett and Madness to Tchaikovsky, Herbie Hancock & Einaudi, among many others. However, the most significant aspect of his career is his profound connection with the enigmatic English songwriter Nick Drake.

In 2021, Demian released “Pink Moon, A Journey on Piano,” a reinterpretation and homage to this masterpiece that celebrated its 50th anniversary.

He recently released a new single “The Thoughts of Mary Jane,” a track that offers a tantalizing glimpse into his upcoming album, “Five Leaves Left, Echoes on solo piano”, set to be released on February 21st, 2025. This album serves as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Drake’s passing. A captivating new work which focuses on the musical nuances with which Drake began his career, establishing a connection to Dorelli’s own musical beginnings.
